The San Francisco Giants 2013 Kimye Engagement Ring and Related Merchandise Unveiled

Ring to celebrate Kardashian/West union as well as to honor couple’s exes; proceeds for replica ring sales to benefit Giants Community Fund

To celebrate the historic pending union of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, the San Francisco Giants today unveiled a line of merchandise celebrating the couple’s engagement Oct. 21, 2013 before a throng of family and close friends at AT&T Park. 

Members of the West and Kardashian families, including personal assistants, PR lackeys on Blackberries, stylists, Twitter ghost writers and some of the AT&T field crew and Kris Jenner, joined Kanye and Kim as the bride-to-be gave an emphatic yes as 50 musicians played songs including West’s “Knock Me Down” as West, on bent knee, gave the erstwhile Carl’s Jr. spokeswoman a 15-carat diamond ring.

The engagement marks Kardashian’s third time down the aisle, Mr. West’s first.

“I count this as the third great ring presented in three years,” said San Francisco Giants’ president of baseball operations Larry Baer. “This ring symbolizes the difficult journey Kim has taken. From her elopement to music producer Damon Thomas at only 19, to her divorce and subsequent sex tape with Ray J. to her 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries. It’s never good to marry someone with the same name as your mom.

“But now, she and Kanye did it, and we in the Giants organization would like to say ‘third time’s a charm.'”

Giants spokeswoman Staci Slaughter said a limited-edition run of ‘Kimye: Third Times a Charm at AT&T Park Hashtag Kimye’ merchandise will be available starting Wednesday, Oct. 23.

“Limited-edition shirts and hats licensed by Kris Jenner featuring Yeesus and Kim K airbrushed on the front are available at all Giants’ Dugout stores,” Slaughter said. “They each also have a pink ribbon on the sleeve because the engagement was done during Pink-for-Cancer month. The Giants will donate $.00001 from each sale to support local cancer charities.”

The “crown jewel” of the merchandise available will be a replica of the ring West presented to babymomma Kardashian, Slaughter said.

Designed and produced by Tiffany & Co., the 2013 West/Kardashian engagement ring pays tribute to baby North, born in June, as well as all relationships in both Kardashian and West’s exes including Humphries, and West’s most recent ex, Amber Rose.

“Because of the franchise’s recent success Tiffany & Co. has a nice post-season tradition with the San Francisco Giants,” said Tom O’Rourke, vice president Tiffany & Co. “We are proud to partner and celebrate, once again, not with a World Series ring but something much more lasting — a ring to celebrate the union of Kimye.”

Kimye Ring Raffle to benefit the Giants Community Fund

The Giants Community Fund will be the beneficiary of the Kimye Ring Raffle.  The raffle will be conducted by Celebrities for Charity and offers fans the chance to win a Kimye Ring, identical to the rings given to Kim Kardashian Monday at AT&T park. 

The ring will be personalized with the winner’s last name.
